This release adds SSO and Registration entry into a single Broadcaster event, expanded closed captioning, and a few bug fixes.
Single Event SSO + Registration Audiences
Producers can now configure a scheduled Broadcaster event to allow two types of audiences to join the same event: SSO and Registration.
Instead of running two simultaneous events for two different types of audiences, producers can create and run a single event with more audience engagement (layouts, etc.). Also, a single event means that the analytics for the entire audience is available in one location.
Producers can distribute the appropriate Broadcaster audience links to the relevant audiences, SSO or Registration.
When the event is configured as SSO & Registration event, the Event URLs modal displays both sets of links that can be copied.
Downloadable registration analytics for Broadcaster events has been expanded to include a new column which identifies the method each person used to join an event. For most events, this is the single method chosen by the producer (e.g. registration, client token, etc). For these new SSO & Registration events, each row in the downloaded CSV will identify whether the person joined via SSO or Registration.
Generated Captions Added To Archives Automatically
As of this release, when captions are AI-generated during a live event (transcribed audio and translated subtitles), when the event concludes, the generated captions are added automatically to the archived event.
Not using captions yet? The setup is shown below.
You can manage generated VTT files like manually uploaded ones. Open the Edit Archive page, access the Closed Captioning modal, then rename, download, or delete files as needed.
A common use case is for a producer to download an AI-generated caption file, edit the VTT text for quality, and re-upload it to improve captions for the archive audience.
Autocaster VTT In Preview Mode
Closed Caption VTT files that have been uploaded to a scheduled Autocaster event are now available during the event preview. In Preview mode, producers can play the event’s video and enable the uploaded captions in the video player. This new feature helps producers verify caption quality and alignment for upcoming Autocaster events.
Simply upload the VTT files via the Edit Autocaster page, open the Preview audience link for the event, and choose a caption from the CC menu in the audience video player.
